A Green and Pleasant Land?
Day 1 – The Poetry of AE Housman with Dr Peter Cox
This study day will look particularly at A Shropshire Lad and Housman’s engagement with a landscape and its people. Exploring the marriage of the words and music, it will focus on the verses that Ralph Vaughan Williams set to create the song cycle “On Wenlock Edge” – poems of nostalgia and with a sense of place.
